سورة الإنفطار
Al-Infitaar — The Cleaving
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
82:1
The Cleaving
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ١
When the sky splits open
82:2
The Cleaving
وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ٢
and when the stars fall away
82:3
The Cleaving
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ٣
and when the seas burst forth
82:4
The Cleaving
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ٤
and when the graves spill out
82:5
The Cleaving
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ٥
˹then˺ each soul will know what it has sent forth or left behind.
82:6
The Cleaving
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ٦
O humanity! What has emboldened you against your Lord, the Most Generous
82:7
The Cleaving
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ٧
Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design
82:8
The Cleaving
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ٨
moulding you in whatever form He willed?
82:9
The Cleaving
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ٩
But no! In fact, you deny the ˹final˺ Judgment
82:10
The Cleaving
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ١٠
while you are certainly observed by vigilant
82:11
The Cleaving
كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ١١
honourable angels, recording ˹everything˺.
82:12
The Cleaving
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ١٢
They know whatever you do.
82:13
The Cleaving
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ١٣
Indeed, the virtuous will be in bliss
82:14
The Cleaving
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ١٤
and the wicked will be in Hell
82:15
The Cleaving
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ١٥
burning in it on Judgment Day
82:16
The Cleaving
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ١٦
and they will have no escape from it.
82:17
The Cleaving
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ١٧
What will make you realize what Judgment Day is?
82:18
The Cleaving
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ١٨
Again, what will make you realize what Judgment Day is?
82:19
The Cleaving
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ١٩
˹It is˺ the Day no soul will be of ˹any˺ benefit to another whatsoever, for all authority on that Day belongs to Allah ˹entirely˺.
